Seven suspects arrested for usury and kidnaping

Seven suspects – three Romanians and four Israelis – who had been detained late Tuesday evening by DIICOT prosecutors and charged with kidnapping businessmen and forcing them to pay large sums of money, were arrested Thursday for 29 days. The seven people are part of a criminal organization specialized in committing violent infractions (unlawful deprivation of freedom, robbery and blackmail), which acted in the capital city and targeted Israeli businessmen, in particular. According to Realitatea.net, the criminal group includes lawyers, doctor Iancu Morad (also known as “the celebrities’ plastic surgeon” and a favorite of Catalin Botezatu), Tolea Ciumac, and Mihai Mila (close friend of Gigi Becali), who was also implicated in a previous case involving sequestering the robbers who had stolen the car owned by the tycoon from Ghencea.
