Raed Arafat will be made Knight of the Order of the Legion d‘Honneur

Raed Arafat, state secretary with the Ministry of Health, will be made Knight of the Order of the Legion d’Honneur, in a ceremony held Thursday in Bucharest, the French Embassy announces in a press release. The medal will be bestowed upon Raed Arafat by Philippe Gustin, the Ambassador of France in Romania. The communique issued by the Embassy of France in Bucharest reminds that Raed Arafat (born on 24 May 1964 in Nablus) is a physician specialised in emergency care, a Romanian citizen of Palestinian origin who founded and coordinated the ambulance service SMURD in Romania. “The is the highest civil and military French distinction, instated in 1802 and awarded without interruption since then. It is an order that maintained a brilliant reputation through the years,” mentions the source.
