The driver of a van carrying miners to the Motru area in the county of Gorj died and other six passengers were injured on Thursday after their vehicle rolled over. According to the policemen quoted by Mediafax, the accident happened on an access road to the interior of the Rosiuta quarry. An ambulance of the Emergency, Resuscitation and Release Service (SMURD) was requested to take one of the miners to a medical unit in Craiova.
The van’s driver, a 47 year-old man, who died in the accident, was trying to adjust the rear-view mirror whilst being on an inclined road. He opened the door of the van to orient himself better and then he lost control of the steering wheel and the car began to roll over. The exact number of the miners has not been determined yet. Six passengers were injured in the accident, but they suffered minor injuries, being able to get back to work.
