The National Theater Festival kicks off this weekend




For reasons beyond the organizers’ will and, alike, the creators’ will, the shows “Bury me behind the plinth”, “Lear(a)”, “Married” and “Mr. Leonida versus the reaction”, programmed for the Focus section – The art of acting: MARIANA MIHUT of the National Theatre Festival (FNT) will not take place anymore. The protagonist will be present this Sunday, at 12:00 o’clock, at the Löwendal Foundation, in a dialogue with the theater critic Octavian Saiu within the FNT meetings.
As every autumn festival, the word spoken on the stage will be accompanied by the written word. The 23rd edition of the FNT proposes a rich harvest of theater book. Invited at the festival with the “Troienele” show, staged at the Romanian National Opera in Iasi, the director Andrei Serban will be present also at the launch of the group book “Cartea Atelierelor” (The workshops’ Book) dedicated to its Itinerant Academy and published in the “Yorick” collection of Nemira Publishing House. The event will take place on Saturday at 11:00 at the LöwendalFoundation.
The same publisher gives a heavy blow to the antiquarians, providing a new translation of the famous paper “The work of the actor with himself” by Konstantin Sergeevici Stanislavski, the real Bible of the modern theater. The translation is signed by Raluca Radulescu and the preface belongs to the director Yuri Kordonsky. The event will take place on Thursday, October 31st, at 16:30 at the Löwendal Foundation.
Under the heading “About dictators and other demons”, the theater critic Cristina Rusiecki brings together in a rehearsal diary evidences about “Julius Caesar” show, directed by Alexander Hausvater at the Timisoara National Theatre. The volume will be launched on Saturday, November 2nd, at 20:30, in the foyer of the Majestic Hall at the Odeon Theatre.
The new books are added also a publication which comes to complete the not exactly generously landscape of the genre – the quarterly culture magazine of culture “Infinitezimal”, director: the theater critic Sebastian – Vlad Popa. The launch will take place on Wednesday, October 30th, at 13:00, at the Foundation Löwendal .
