73 railway carriages manufactured by Astra will go to Czech Republic

Businessman Valer Blidar, who controls the Astra Vagoane Calatori factory of Arad, recently won a contract worth some EUR 73 M with Czech company RegioJet, with the first units due to be delivered in December this year. The news was confirmed by Blidar for zf.ro. The new fleet of carriages will operate on the Prague-Hamburg line, which will be inaugurated at the end of next year by RegioJet jointly with the giant Deutsche-Bahn. According to the Railway Gazette, one of the most important sources of information about the railroad industry, this is not the first collaboration between the company led by the Romanian businessman and RegioJet.
