Gov’t to take responsibility for decentralization bill in Parliament in mid-Nov

The Romanian Government will take responsibility for the decentralization bill in mid-November, i.e. it will seek the Parliament’s vote of confidence, after the discussions on this matter inside the executive and with the opposition parties are completed, Prime Minister Victor Ponta said on Friday. ‘In mid-November, after we, obviously, discuss within the Government, we will take responsibility for the bill on the decentralization of the structures to go to the local public authorities. (…) The bill should represent an important project not only of the USL, but a national project as well’, Ponta said. On the other hand, Vice Premier Liviu Dragnea is to meet PDL MPs today to discuss the decentralization bill, at his request.
