WB: Romania ranks 73 out of 189 by ease of doing business

Romania has retained its No. 73 spot out of 189 states in the rankings of the states where it is easiest to do business, shows the most recent edition of the Doing Business report drawn up by the World Bank (WB), that was launched in Washington on Tuesday, Agerpres informs. Even though Romania keeps the same place as last year, its overall points have improved slightly from last year by 0.48 points up to 65.11 points thanks to the progress made on three topics as follows: starting a business, paying taxes and enforcing contracts. Romania has simplified starting up a business by transferring the registration certificate from the Tax Administration to the Trade Register Office…Romania has made the payment of taxes easier and less costly by cutting the frequency of the payments from once a quarter-year to twice a year….Romania has simplified the enforcement of contracts by adopting a new civil procedure code and speeding up all the judicial procedures, shows the Doing Business 2014 report.
