Recital of films starring Isabelle Huppert at Korean Film Days

Elvira Popescu Cinema will be hosting Korean Film Days between November 15 and November 17. The film showcasing will start with the Romanian premiere of In Another Country, directed by Hong Sang-soo and starring Isabelle Huppert as leading actress.
Organized by the Republic of Korea Embassy, this event brings some of the most interesting Korean films of 2012 before Romanian audiences, films which have been awarded at prestigious international festivals such as the Cannes or Venice festivals.
Sang-soo Hong’s film, Da-reun na-ra-e-seo / In another country, was part of the Cannes Festival competition. It is a unique collaboration between the Korean director and famous French actress Isabelle Huppert. She plays three characters in the film, each with their own personal background, who meet the same people in the same place but have different emotional responses, each situation having different ramifications. In a foreign country – South Korea – Anne met, meets and will meet the locals of a tourists’ beach and every experience, though different, will help her get closer to the spiritual answer all three characters played by Huppert are searching for.
For three days, audiences in Bucharest will have the unique opportunity to view Korean art films in cinemas, which are not easily accessible outside international film festivals. Tickets can be purchased from the box office at Elvira Popescu Cinema.
Korean Film Days is an event organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Romania and it is sponsored by Samsung and Daewoo Mangalia Heavy Industries.
