Volksbank records 50 pc rise in Internet Banking clients

The number of clients and the corresponding transactions volume by way of the Internet Banking platform launched by Volksbank Romania has gone up by approximately 50 percent in the first year since the service was relaunched in October 2012, according to a press release. Transactions performed by Volksbank clients through Internet Banking in the last 12 months amounted to approximately EUR 4 billion. Transfers between own accounts experienced experienced the strongest growth in this period, doubling in number primarily as a result of increased online deposits (over 100 percent increase). Client numbers reported a steady growth both in the natural persons (+48 percent) and the legal persons (+39 percent) category.
