Late on Tuesday at the National Library of Romania, Princess Margareta awarded the diplomas of young talents to the 28 classical music singers and plastic artists, the winners of the Princess Margareta Foundation scholarships, during a gala that brought to the fore the movie soundtrack performed by young artists on the piano, violin and flute, Mediafax reports. The first song played by the young artists was a paragraph of Hedwig’s theme in “Harry Potter”. The main theme of the Schindler’s list feature movie came next. In addition, the artists sang other theme songs from “Moulin Rouge”, “Singing in the rain”, “Maria” and “Tonight” from “West Side Story”. An impressive moment of the evening was the tango “Por una cabeza” from the famous film “Scent of a Woman”. The recital ended with the song “Moon River” from “Breakfast at Tifanny’s”, followed by the soundtrack “Wheel of Fortune” from “Pirates of the Caribbean”. “I am very proud (of these young artists – editor’s note), what a show, probably it’s the best till now. It was exceptional, and it can happen again,” said Princess Margareta. In addition, she said she is convinced the programme will be implemented nationwide. At end-November, the foundation will make public the names of other young artists it plans to support throughout 2014, through the Young Talents programme.
