Actor Steven Seagal adopts stray dog in Romania

US actor Steven Seagal has adopted a stray dog hosted by Dogtown animal protection center located in Uzunu (the county of Giurgiu, southern Romania), according to a press release.
According to the above-quoted source, while in Romania, Steven Seagal “decided to give a positive example and legally adopt a dog that was sterilized, vaccinated and taken care of.”
“The actor supports responsible adoptions, not the pity adoptions from improvised shelters providing citizens with no guarantee that they will have a healthy and clean dog, whose behaviour has not been tested, the dog running the risk of being abandoned back on the streets,” the release reads.
Dogtown is one of the projects of the Portico association, according to the release.
Steven Seagal (61 years old) is an American action film star, producer and scriptwriter. His movies had total revenues exceeding 923 million dollars worldwide. Seagal has visited Romania several times over the past few years to shoot scenes for various movies.
