MFE gets loan from State Treasury to pay beneficiaries of EU funds

The Romanian government on Wednesday, November 20, approved a new loan from the State Treasury, worth approx. RON 550 M, to pay claims for reimbursement and payment requests submitted by beneficiaries of EU funds, Agerpres reports. “The funds allotted this year for the payment of beneficiaries have thus reached up to eight billion lei, an amount that shows our commitment to support the implementation of projects and the acceleration of the EU absorption fund process,’ Minister of European Funds, Eugen Tedorovici, according to a release. In order to make the payments to beneficiaries of the Regional Operational programme funds were allotted worth RON 276 M. In order to pay the eligible amounts for beneficiaries of the Sectoral Operational Programme Environment there were allotted funds worth RON 200 M, while for the payment of beneficiaries under the Operational Programme Administrative Capacity programme there were allotted RON 65 M.
