Romania, interested in cooperating with the Sovereign Order of Malta



State Secretary for European Affairs with Romania’s Foreign Ministry (MAE) George Ciamba on Friday welcomed Grand Chancellor of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta Jean-Pierre Mazery, to whom he reiterated Romania’s interest in cooperating with the order in the areas of charitable assistance, MAE informs. The two officials also talked about the high level political dialogue between Romania and Malta and cooperation in the social and humanitarian areas “Ciamba reiterated Romania’s interest in cooperating with the Sovereign Order of Malta in the areas of charitable assistance, the promotion of joint projects in the area of social inclusion of Roma people, as well as other foreign affairs, including establishing a partnership in the field of development assistance in counties where both Malta and Romania are involved, dialogue between civilisations and ecumenical dialogue,” MAE reports. The two officials also voiced their countries’ shared interest in the development of bilateral relations and cooperation between them on the world stages, including inside the UN and its specialist bodies, as well as interest in respect for human dignity and fundamental human rights. Among the foreign affairs topics, there were the latest developments in North Africa and the latest developments in the Peace Process in the Middle East.
