Gov’t transfers Minvest Rosia Montana from Dan Sova back to Economy Ministry

The Minvest Rosia Montana company set up by the government in order to deal exclusively with the Rosia Montana project has been transferred from Investments Minister Dan Sova (PSD) back to the Economy Ministry, being considered that Sova “accomplished his mission” by drafting a law on this issue, Mediafax informs. The decision was taken by the government last Wednesday. At the end of April the government decided to set up a new company that was meant to deal exclusively with the Rosia Montana project and to work solely under Minister Sova’s control. The new company was formed through the partial dividing of the Minvest Deva National Company for Copper, Gold and Iron, a company that currently owns 19.3 per cent of the shares within the Rosia Montana Gold Corporation (RMGC), the latter being controlled by Canadian company Gabriel Resources. Until that time Minvest Deva had been under the control of the Economy Ministry.
