Over 1,000 jobs in the healthcare system to be unblocked

Prime Minister Victor Ponta announced that the government approved in the Wednesday’s session the unblocking of more than 1,000 jobs in the healthcare system. ‘Today (i.e. Wednesday) we are going to approve the unblocking of more than 1,000 jobs in the healthcare system. All the money from the reserve fund, 200 million lei, will be thus transferred to the healthcare system. I hope that the amendments that you agreed upon with the trade unions for 2014 will be seen as a clear signal on our part of support (in the healthcare system – editor’s note), by all means possible,’ said Ponta in the beginning of the government meeting, while addressing to the Minister of Health, Eugen Nicolaescu, Agerpres reports. Victor Ponta asked the Minister of Health to continue the dialogue with the health personnel, while appreciating that this is the only way through which the problems existing in the system could be solved. Unions in the system previously announced that, if their requests will not be satisfied, the strike will begin all over the country November 28-th. Unblocking 1,200 jobs was one of the unions’ requests.
