MFP borrows almost RON 800 M from banks, yield goes down to historic minimum

The Public Finance Ministry (MFP) on Monday borrowed RON 799.99 M (about EUR 180.34 M) from commercial banks, through a T-bill issue with a six months maturity, for which it will pay a historic minimum in the average yield. The average security yield stands at 2.78 per cent, the lowest the Treasury paid for such maturities. In October 2013, the yield paid for such securities stood at 2.92 per cent. The banks offers for the security issue on Monday amounted to RON 1.77 billion. Since the beginning of the year, MFP borrowed from the domestic market approximately RON 45 billion. MFP in December scheduled loans worth RON 3.99 billion from commercial banks, through four benchmark-type bonds and two discounted T-bill issues, according to the data released on the MFP website.
