The amendment to the Mines’ Law was rejected on Monday in the plenum of the Senate, with a number of votes lower than the minimum quorum to adopt it, after several heated argument between the PDL and the ruling coalition senators regarding its provisions. The bill went to the Deputies Chamber as decision-making chamber, but it could not be adopted in the Senate as it met only 85 votes “in favour,” 6 votes “against” and 3 abstentions. In order to adopt the draft law which is fundamental, an amount of 87 votes were necessary.
