Predoiu wins PDL internal elections in southern region



PDL First Vice President Catalin Predoiu got 72.42 per cent (17,816) of the votes cast during the internal elections organized on Saturday in Romania’s southern region for the nomination of PDL’s presidential candidate, according to information released by the party’s Press Office. Out of the total valid votes expressed by the Democratic Liberals in this region, Arad Mayor Gheorghe Falca gathered 27.58 per cent, i.e. 6,784 votes. The number of the valid ballot papers in the 7 counties where the internal elections took place stood at 24,600. Out of a total of 35.363 ballot papers, 10,136 were not used, 25.227 were in the ballot box and 634 were considered invalid.
