Romanian Ada Solomon awarded by European Film Academy



The European Film Academy offered this year’s European Film Awards on Saturday during the 26th edition of the event, with Romanian producer Ada Solomon being granted the European Co-production Award – Eurimages Prix, Agerpres reports. The Best European Film Award went to “The Great Beauty” (Italy) directed by Paolo Sorrentino. Paolo Sorrentino also received the best director award for the same movie. The Best Actor award was granted to Toni Servillo for his part in the movie ““The Great Beauty”. Veerle Baetens in “The broken circle breakdown” (Belgium) was designated best actress. The Best European Scriptwriter prize went to François Ozon for the movie “In the House”, and the Best Documentary is “The act of killing” (Denmark/Norway) by Jshua Oppenheimer. The European Film Academy Lifetime Achievement Award was given to actress Catherine Deneuve, while the European Achievement in World Cinema Prize went to Pedro Almodóvar.
