Former director of Romanian Mail, sued for malfeasance in office

Former Director of Romanian Postal Company Mihai Toader along with other three individuals from the former managing staff were summoned in court yesterday for malfeasance in office in the case of some IT products purchased from a Cyprus company for a price twelve times their worth, which incurred a EUR 6.5 million loss, according to Mediafax. According to the indictment issued by the prosecutors of the National Anti-Corruption Directorate (DNA), Dan Mihai Toader, Emanoil Lepadatu, Andrei Marinescu as managers and Barbulet Vasile as head of department in 2008 “committed office misconduct in the organization and conduction of the purchase and implementation of some IT products from Data Tech Business Solutions Ltd company of Cyprus.”
