Three additional days off for the winter holidays

State employees will have three additional days off for the winter holidays, namely on December 27 and December 31, 2013, and January 3, 2014, which will be made up for subsequently, Prime Minister Victor Ponta announced, according to Mediafax. In November, the PM had stated that state employees would be granted several days off this year because the “bonus situation is not so good,” given that the Government was forced to limit itself to a wage grid that had suffered wage cuts in all sectors in 2010. Ponta explained the Government would schedule days off for state employees during the holidays, so as to link the legal Christmas and New Year’s vacations with the weekend period. The days off will be made up for in January, he concluded.
