Christmas carols concert “9 Lessons and 9 Carols” on Wednesday in Cluj-Napoca

The Christmas carols concert “9 Lessons and 9 Carols” held by Transylvania College will take place on Wednesday at 2 PM at the Lutheran Church of Cluj-Napoca, according to a release quoted by Mediafax. This year’s edition is the third and has special guests as Dan Dumitrana (singer for the National Romanian Opera of Cluj-Napoca), pianist Bogdan Dumbravanu, students of the Music Academy Gheorghe Dima of Cluj and Diaconia Chorus of Floresti. This concert is a unique event in Romania, following the model of the shows held in the UK and includes 9 passages of the Bible as inferred from its title, recited by both professors and students, as well as by the members of the Transylvania College community, and 9 international Christmas carols from Spain, Romania, Germany, France, Ireland, the UK and the US.
The carols will be sung by the school chorus made up of 65 students aged between 5 and 17, an ensemble led by music teacher Anamaria Eli. The concert will include along with the nine passages and the nine carols, special moments provided by special guests.
