Centennial of Romania – Albania diplomatic relations

The centennial of Romania – Albania diplomatic relations was marked on Monday at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Agerpres informs. Albanian Ambassador in Bucharest Sami Shiba reminded that Romania’s bilateral relations with his country were established shortly after Albania declared its independence. He stressed that Romania is Albania’s ally within NATO and an important partner on its path to European integration.Vice-chairman of the parliamentary group of friendship with Albania, Oana Manolescu, said that in her opinion, the Albanian minority in Romania has best integrated in our country. Secretary of State with the Foreign Ministry Radu Podgorean said that “the celebration of the centennial of bilateral relations has provided the adequate setting for a new approach in efforts to strengthen bilateral relations.” On the same occasion, the Foreign Ministry inaugurated an exhibition of books and documents illustrating the history of Romania – Albania relations.
