Fado singer Mariza to perform in Bucharest on May 15

Mariza, dubbed by musical critics from all over the world as “the new queen of fado,” will hold a concert in Bucharest at Sala Palatului, on 15 May 2014, the organisers of the event, Amphitrion, inform. Tickets are available starting today in the Diverta network, at the Muzica store, the Mihai Eminescu bookshop, at the ticket desk of Sala Palatului (Palace Hall) and online at www.myticket.ro, at prices between RON 85 and RON 215. Mixing the poetry of Portuguese folk music with Arab tunes, African music and Brazilian rhythms, Mariza began singing at a tender age and gained recognition with a concert that commemorated the most famous fado singer of those years, Amalia Rodrigues.
