Vienna Classic Christmas tonight at Sala Palatului

Tonight, Vienna Strauss Festival Orchestra will be presenting the Vienna Classic Christmas show at Sala Palatului, HotNews.ro informs. The Viennese ensemble founded in 1978 by legendary conductor Peter Guth has played with some of the most talented artists in the world throughout the years, thus securing its supremacy among orchestras of the genre. For five years now, Romanian audiences have been getting into the spirit of winter holidays by waltzing to the tunes of this remarkable orchestra at invariably sold-out shows. The Vienna Strauss Festival Orchestra is popular among Romanians, particularly since in 2008 it was one of the guests of honor at Enescu Festival. This year’s performance includes special guests soprano Felicia Filip and tenor Robert Nagy. Artists whose voices have filled the greatest international concert halls will offer spectators the full experience of a fairytale Christmas.
Felicia Filip is one of the world’s greatest lyrical voices and has been named “Diva céleste” and “The New Queen of the Traviata” by international newspapers. She has won the hearts of music lovers with performances on all the major stages of the globe and she is the only soloist to ever have won every Mozart Award.
Tenor Robert Nagy’s voice has caused a buzz throughout Europe, leaving millions of fans mesmerized by his interpretation of various roles. Following a tradition started five years ago, the Vienna Strauss Festival Orchestra will familiarize Romanians with the glamorous age of Imperial Vienna as it is evoked by the refined music of the Strauss family and other illustrious composers. The orchestra will be directed by a first class representative of Viennese music, maestro Gunter Seifert. His over 40 years of experience with the Vienna Philharmonic and Vienna State Opera, in addition to his numerous awards, distinctions, and artistic endeavors all recommend him as an excellent conductor and violinist, in keeping with Johann Strauss’ tradition of simultaneously conducting and playing the violin.
