Actor Ion Caramitru and actress Rodica Mandache, alongside other Romanian artists, will perform in Paris, and Berlin respectively, on the occasion of Romania’s National Cultural Day, informs the Romanian Cultural Institute (ICR) on its website.
Ion Caramitru on January 12 will perform music and poetry recital entitled ‘Mihai Eminescu – An Empty Genius’, accompanied by clarinettist Aurelian Octav-Popa, violinist Constantin Bogdanas and piano player Kazuko Hiyama. Moreover, on January 15, Rodica Mandache, Marius Manole, Ana-Ioana Macaria and Istvan Teglas will perform in the play ‘Sebastian’s Great Love’ at the ICR Berlin headquarters. The play will also have German subtitles. Access will be free. On January 15, on Romania’s National Day, ICR Stockholm will have writer Gabriela Melinescu and pan flute player Dana Dragomir as the main guests, both artists now living in Sweden, while ICR Budapest organised next Wednesday in the Hungarian Capital City an exhibition of paintings signed by contemporary Romanian painters.
