Romania to participate in Eurovision 2014

The Romanian Television Company (SRTv) confirms Romania’s participation in this year’s Eurovision, and the song to represent our country to this European contest will be chosen following the national selection to be held on March 1, reports a release quoted by Mediafax. According to the above-mentioned source, TVR believes “Romania and the Romanian people deserve the necessary financial efforts to participate in this major event.” The decision to participate in Eurovision was forwarded to the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), the contest organizer. This year’s Eurovision will take place in Copenhagen (Denmark) on May 6, 8 and 10. On January 20, the draw will take place for the participating countries to enter into one of the two semifinals of the contest.
