Calarasi Committee will call Doru Ioan Taracila for hearings

The Calarasi parliamentary committee, which probes the conditions in which Ioana Basescu, daughter of the Romanian president, was extended a bank loan for purchasing a plot of farmland in Nana commune, Calarasi County, will call for hearings next week Doru Ioan Taracila, a prominent leader of PSD back in the ‘90s, when he also was speaker of the Senate. “Next week, we have scheduled Monday, at 3.00 PM, hearings with the former prefect of Calarasi, Doru Ioan Taracila, then at 4.00 PM the former prefect of Calarasi, Jenel Serban, and at 5.00 PM the former prefect of Calarasi, Lilian Ionescu, formerly Ostropel,” announced PSD senator Gabriela Vranceanu Firea, member of the committee.
The next day, the committee will have hearings with the former mayor of Nana, Dumitru Budesteanu, the secretary of the Nana mayor’s office, Tudorita Nicolae, and the agricultural worker of the mayor’s office, Marian Dobre. The lawmakers will also have hearings with Stelian Fuia, former general manager of the Fundulea Institute, APIA Calarasi official Marinela Dumitrescu, a representative of the department for Agriculture, Florin Stoia and the acting general manager of the Fundulea Institute, Marian Verzea.
