Carpatcement plans EUR 15 M investments this year

Cement producer Carpatcement Holding, part of German group HeidelbergCement, is going to invest approximately EUR 15 million this year in projects aimed, among others, at increasing energy efficiency, environmental investments, and staff training. “(…) We especially wish to underline our investments of approximately EUR 100 million between 2008 and 2009, over the course of the crisis, in increasing production capacity, which has gone up to approximately 7.15 million tons per year,” Florin Aldea, Chairman and General Manager of the company, stated in a press release. The company representative believes tax increases will cause a chain of increases in the prices of both general consumption and long-term use goods, and estimates the budget allocated for new constructions, repairs, or renovation will be significantly reduced under these circumstances.
