Tutilescu, removed from office of MAI Under-Secretary of State

Chief police officer Marian Tutilescu was removed from the office of Under Secretary of State with the Ministry of the Interior (MAI), according to a decision made by the Premier and published in the Official Gazette on Friday, Agerpres informs. On the same day, the Premier also signed the appointment of Doru Dumitrescu to the position of MAI Under-Secretary of State. Chief police officer Marian Tutilescu told that he had submitted a report requesting to be pensioned; the file is to be sent to the Presidential Administration. Marian Tutilescu said that it was his personal option and thought he made the best decision. Tutilescu has been coordinating the Schengen Department since July 2010. Previously he was director of the Directorate for the Regime of Driving Licenses and Vehicle Registration, director general of the Police Directorate of the City of Bucharest, deputy inspector general of the Romanian Police.
