Daewoo Mangalia Heavy Industries SA celebrates 17 years

Daewoo Mangalia Heavy Industries SA (DMHI) celebrates 17 years of its existence, following the joint venture agreement between the founders Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co. Ltd. (Republic of Korea) and Shipyard “2 May” SA Mangalia, according to a press release. Throughout its history, DMHI determined by the dynamics of its development, through constant technological improvement together with other local shipyards, a positive evolution of the Romanian shipbuilding industry in Europe and the world. In the 17 years of uninterrupted activity Daewoo Mangalia shipyard has delivered a total of 163 new building projects including CASCO hulls, and generated revenues in excess of USD 3.4 billion. For these projects, the customers within the European Union had a substantial share (152) to those outside the Union (11).
