Decision on Rompetrol memorandum, approved – sources say

The decision which approves the memorandum agreed with Rompetrol was adopted yesterday in the cabinet meeting, official sources announced, quoted by Mediafax. “I want to give a very clear signal that we want to save the investments in Romania, even when they are the victims of political battles, to save jobs and that, for this government, those who invest money in Romania, pay taxes and create jobs are partners. I think it is nothing wrong if I say this, all those who invest money, correctly pay taxes and create jobs must be supported by this government, regardless if it is the biggest or smallest company. This is the message which I want to convey with today’s decision,” Ponta told the press during the cabinet meeting. Last week, government sources said that the decision which approves the memorandum agreed with Rompetrol had been included on the agenda of the weekly cabinet session, but the Executive postponed its approval for a future meeting.
