Moldovan MPs decorated at Cotroceni

At the decoration ceremony dedicated to Moldovan MPs, President Traian Basescu stated yesterday at Cotroceni that declaring Romanian the official language of Chisinau is an influential aspect of national identity, Mediafax informs. Basescu said it was a great privilege to decorate the Members of the Republic of Moldova Parliament who drafted the documentation on recognizing Romanian as the official language, which was submitted to the Constitutional Court in Chisinau. “What you did is extremely important not only for Romania but also for the Republic of Moldova,” the Head of State said, while noting that each country’s national identity is very important. Traian Basescu called attention upon a series of decisions that will be crucial for the country, as the two agreements with the EU are due to be signed most likely no later than August.
