Dortmund, Chelsea interested in Vlad Chiriches

Tottenham defender Romanian Vlad Chiriches has reportedly become a target for Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund according to Sports Direct News. The Romanian international only arrived at White Hart Lane last summer but has proven a very able performer in the English top tier and has been particularly impressive since Tim Sherwood took over from Andre Villas-Boas, the newly appointed boss placing a great deal of faith in the 24 year old.
Jurgen Klopp is to make an approach for the centre-back in the summer and the success of a potential bid could well depend greatly on which of the took clubs has secure a Champions League berth, caughtoffside.com reports.
Tottenham paid GBP 8.5m for Chiriches who is tied down to a long term contract and as such it would take a hefty bid to convince the North London club to sell the intelligent defender.
In shocking developments at Stamford Bridge, the club are planning a raid on their London rivals Tottenham Hotspur for Brazil midfielder Paulinho and defender Vlad Chiriches in a bid believed to be around GDP 35 million, according to sportskeeda.com.
The duo were among the eight players that former manager Andre Villas-Boas brought to White Hart Lane in the summer. However, after the recent sacking of the Portuguese manager, things at the North London club look rather uncertain.
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho will be desperate to sort out the many problems he has been facing this campaign in all areas of the field. The ‘special one’ has identified box to box midfielder Paulinho to replace the likes of John Obi Mikel, Michael Essien and Frank Lampard who have been erratic this season.
Defensively, the Blues have had their worst season yet, keeping only 4 clean sheets in the Premier League. As John Terry nears the end of his career, and David Luiz yet to impress the gaffer, Vlad Chiriches is touted to be the answer to their woes.
However, Tottenham Hotspur might not sell their stars, as they look to break into the top four this campaign.
