Economy Minister Andrei Dominic Gerea is attending today, at the invitation of his Italian counterpart, the “Friends of Industry” conference, the second Ministerial Conference on industrial policy issues and a joint initiative of Italy, France and Spain, an event organized in preparation of the future European Council summit. Minister Gerea is accompanied by European Commissioner for Industry and Entrepreneurship Antonio Tajani. According to a press release issued by the Economy Ministry, the main topics on the agenda includes aspects related to the promotion of sustainable development, strategies and initiatives for the reindustrialization of European Union countries, but also the energy sector’s importance as an economic growth factor. On this occasion, Minister Andrei Gerea will have a bilateral meeting with his Italian counterpart Flavio Zanonato, a meeting that will focus on the issue of economic cooperation and bilateral investment activity in order to identify new joint economic cooperation projects. Likewise, Minister Gerea will also meet Riccardo Monti, president of the Italian Trade Promotion Agency. The talks will touch on infrastructure development programs (transportation, energy, constructions), investment projects for the 2014-2020 period and trade cooperation in industry, agriculture and information technology domains.
