Udrea resigns from PDL to join the People’s Movement

Deputy Elena Udrea yesterday resigned from the Democratic Liberal Party (PDL), informed sources quoted by Mediafax which added that Udrea informed the secretary general of PDL, Gheorghe Flutur about her resignation by phone. PDL had summoned its enlarged Steering Board and Permanent National Bureau on February 1, in Brasov, also inviting Elena Udrea “to explain her public statements that criticised the decisions of the party.” PDL sources said that such convocations usually precede decisions of expulsion from the party.
Other political sources revealed that Udrea will join the People’s Movement Party. Udrea and PMP were expected to announce the accession during the press conference scheduled for Thursday evening.
