Baby dies from cold

A five-month-old baby died from acute cold at the Saint Mary Children’s Hospital in Iasi, after his parents failed to bring him to the hospital in time, Mediafax informs. According to hospital representatives, the girl’s parents called 112 when she was unconscious. The SMURD team who arrived at the scene by helicopter barely managed “to stabilize her cardiac activity.” “The child was intubated and kept breathing through a respirator. She was suspected of suffering from bronchopneumonia and blood poisoning, and given an existing condition of precocious malnutrition, she died,” Lucian Cernahoschi, spokesperson for the Saint Mary Children’s Hospital in Iasi, stated. He mentioned the Social Services and Child Protection General Directorate (DGASPC) of Iasi was notified. The family has four other children.
