Modernization of Oradea Airport scheduled to start April 1

The expansion and modernization process of Oradea Airport, which will cost RON 129.7 million, will start April 1 and be finalized by September 30, 2015, the Ministry of Transport announced Friday, according to Mediafax. The financing contract on expanding and modernizing Airport Oradea was signed Friday by Ramona Manescu, Minister of Transport. Pursuant to this contract, European funds will be made available to airport authorities in view of restoring and expanding the existing runway and access straps, building a take-off & landing platform that ensures space for six stationing aircrafts, and incorporating an illuminated buoyage system. The modernization process will also entail creating an illumination system for the take-off & landing platform, consisting of illumination pillars equipped with projectors.
