Search operations at Lake of Mountain Spring for vessel in danger on French Riviera

Teams of the Neamt Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (ISU) have conducted search operations in the area of the Mountain Spring barrage for a vessel facing some problems that was actually located on the French Riviera, following information provided by the Romanian Air Traffic Services Administration (Romatsa), based on satellite data. According to this source, Romatsa said there are two possible locations, namely the Lake of the Mountain Spring, Neamt County, north-eastern Romania and the French Riviera, southern France. After about 50 minutes, ISU Neamt received a new message from Romatsa saying that the incident involving the searches vessel occurred on the French Riviera. Given this new information, ISU Neamt ended the search. Subsequently, the representatives of Romatsa stated the localization coordinated are not generated by Romatsa, but the company received them from a satellite system, pointed out that the initiation of the search operation “is decided by the coordinators of the intervention teams.”
