MAE: Five Romanians repatriated from Syria by request

A group of five Romanian citizens and three family members, Syrian citizens, were repatriated by request on Wednesday from Syria, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, quoted by Mediafax. The group of citizens was assisted by a team of the Romanian Embassy to Lebanon and by the Romanian Ambassador in Damascus to the Lebanon-Syrian border. “The Romanian Embassy in Damascus ensured the arrangements for the road transport from Damascus to Rafic Hariri Airport in Beirut. The Romanian Embassy to Lebanon provided support and consulate assistance for the Romanian citizens and took the necessary steps with the Lebanon authorities for the technical formalities,” said MAE. Since the conflicts broke out in Syria, the Romanian Embassy in Damascus repatriated more than 500 Romanian citizens through own procedures. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs repeats the appeal to all Romanian citizens on the territory of Syria to leave the state as soon as possible.
