Changes in management at Transelectrica

Although Transelectrica and Transgaz were only recently transferred from the Ministry of Finance to the General Secretariat of the Government, changes in management have already been implemented. The Supervisory Council at Transelectrica has revoked Florin Mihaita Boiangiu’s membership in the company’s Directorate, according to Mediafax. Boinagiu’s dismissal took effect late last week and received unanimous votes, according to a Transelectrica press release. The company has not made public the reasons for his dismissal or Boiangiu’s successor. Another change brought last week was replacing Danut Leonard Sandu, president of NexteBank and member of the Supervisory Council, with Remus Vulpescu, cabinet director of former Finance Minister Daniel Chitoiu.
The Emergency Ordinance was signed Friday, February 14, by Prime Minister Victor Ponta, Ion Moraru, Secretary General of the Government, the chief of the PM’s Chancellery, Constantin Nita, Minister Delegate for Energy, Dan Manolescu, Secretary of State for the Ministry of Finance, and Liviu Voinea, Minister Delegate for Budget.
The transfer was only made public two days after it was adopted and took everyone on the energy market by surprise, since the public opinion had been informed of the Government’s intention, as it was customary. Stock exchange investors were likewise surprised. According to HotNews.ro, the ordinance was drafted the day before it was approved by the Government.
