Evenimentul and Capital Publishing House wants insolvency

Evenimentul and Capital SRL Publishing House, in charge of editing the daily newspaper Evenimentul zilei and the weekly newspaper Capital, has requested to undergo insolvency procedures in a file submitted with the Bucharest Court of Law; the first trial hearing was set on February 26, according to The file was registered with the Bucharest Court of Law on February 14. The object of the case is “request L85/2006 Art.27 Para. 5 filed by the debtor” and the legal subject area is “bankruptcy.” The request for insolvency does not necessarily mean a company will enter into bankruptcy. Virgil Munteanu, Executive Manager of Evenimentul and Capital Publishing House, has pointed out to Mediafax that the company’s decision to request for insolvency was determined by the current conditions the Romanian press distribution market is confronted with.
