Starting this year, the accommodation units of the Danube Delta, from pontoons to hotels, as well as bars and restaurants will pay a promotion tax. The collected sum will serve at advertising the destination in Romania and abroad, Corina Martin, president of the ‘Litoral – Delta Dunarii’ Promotion Association told Mediafax. According to the source, the promotion tax of the Mamaia resort, enforced last year, served to the collection of EUR 254,000, which are used for producing a presentation film, creating an official web site, for various shows, brochures and participations in fairs abroad. The tax will be collected from all the operators located in the delta and will be differentiated on types of activity. For instance, in Mamaia a hotel pays an annual promotion tax of RON 4,000, a night club pays RON 3,000 and an apartment in hotel regime RON 100.
