Bucharest lost three positions down to No. 45, in the ranking of the most expensive 67 locations across the world where to occupy office space, although the level of rents in downtown Bucharest has surged slightly in 2013, according to a study of the Cushman&Wakefield real estate consultancy company. The latest study of the real estate consultancy company shows the rents in the central business district of Bucharest (the Victoria Square) amount to EUR 19 per sq m per month on average, and the total occupancy costs, also including the utility expenses, amount to EUR 339 per sq. m. per year, EUR 28.25 per sq. m. per month respectively. The rental levels in Bucharest are higher than those in Prague (EUR 318 /sq m/year), Lisbon (EUR 298/ sq m/year) or Bratislava (EUR 257/sq m/year).
