Premier Victor Ponta, who is also interim minister of Finance, announced that he proposed the state secretary with the Ministry of Finance, Enache Jiru as CEO of Casa de Economii si Consemnatiuni (CEC Bank), instead of Radu Ghetea, Mediafax reports. Enache Jiru began his career at the National Bank of Romania, where he worked in the Department for the management of international reserves, and since 1998 he alternatively held public offices and management positions in the private economy. He was vice-president of CEC Bank in 2000-2001 and chairman of the bank between autumn 2004 – March 2005. Jiru was state secretary with the Ministry of finance in 2001-2004 from June 2012 on, with attributions related to coordinating the state Treasury. From what is known so far, a dual management will be proposed for CEC Bank, with a Supervisory Board and a Board of Directors.
