Bucharest, Craiova, Iasi, Cluj Timisoara and Arad want to be European Capital of Culture in 2021

Lia Olguta Vasilescu, the mayor of Craiova and Ion Calinoiu, the president of Gorj County Council, signed yesterday the protocol for supporting Craiova city in competing for the 2012 European Cultural Capital on behalf of five county councils – Dolj, Gorj, Mehedinti, Valcea and Olt.  Other mayors from Oltenia region were present at the ceremony.
