Dacia union announces protest to show support for car industry on March 5

The union of Automobile Dacia has announced it will hold a public gathering to show support for the car industry in Mioveni locality, Arges County, on March 5, which over 10,000 people are expected to attend, Agerpres informs. One of the reasons for dissatisfaction is tied to the lack of actual measures taken to support the Romanian car industry and unionists demand tickets for the car park renewal program be supplemented and people be encouraged to purchase new cars. The protest will also focus on the government officials’ failure to keep their promises with respect to amending the labor legislation and the Government’s decision to postpone the construction of the highway stretch between Pitesti and Sibiu, which unionists view as “extremely important for SC Automobile Dacia, its suppliers, and Romania.”
