After France, Dacia keeps their ascension in Germany

Registrations of new Dacia cars in Germany went up by 21.7 percent over the first couple of months of the year to 7,448 units, about four times faster than the German market, which reported a 5.7 percent advance to 415,345 cars. The market share of the Romanian brand was 1.8 percent in January-February according to data released yesterday by the German Car Registration Office KBA. Only three of the 33 brands analyzed by KBA witnessed higher ascensions than Dacia, namely Jaguar, Ford and Mazda. The registrations of Renault cars, the French group controlling Dacia, went down by 6.9 percent to 13,373 cars. Out of the 33 brands, 20 reported a positive trend over the first two months, and the rest a negative trend.

In February, Dacia sales went up by 17.7 percent to 3,436 units whereas the increase in the German market was 4.3 percent to 209,349 units. The market share of the brand was 1.6 percent in February after 1.9 percent in the first month of the year. Renault registrations went down in February by 6 percent to 7,348 cars. The leader of the German market, Volkswagen, went up over the first two months by 4 per cent to 89,770 units but they witnessed a decline of 1.3 percent to 42,324 cars. Volkswagen controls over 20 per cent of the German market. Germany is the second market in terms of quantity after France. Dacia’s total sales went up by 19.3 percent last year to 429,540 cars, and France was still the major market with almost 94,000 units, whereas the deliveries to Romania went up by 12.4 percent to 24,890 units, meaning a market share of 31.6 percent. Dacia sales outside Romania totaled 404,000 units and the deliveries on the European market went up by 25.9 percent, as the market was itself in a 1.7 percent decline.
