Razvan Burleanu was elected yesterday the newPresident of the Romanian Football Federation (FRF)with some 120 votes in favour. In the first round of votingfor the office of President of the FRF, RazvanBurleanu received 72 votes and Vasile Avram 59. Thirdcame Gheorghe Chivorchian, with 29 votes, while formerfootball player Sorin Raducanu did not receive anyvote. The two left the race for the presidency of FRF. Before the first ballot, Marcel Puscas abandonedthe race for the presidency of FRF and asked his fans tovote for Razvan Burleanu.After the withdrawal of Puscas, the candidates left inthe race were Razvan Burleanu, Vasile Avram, GheorgheChivorchian and Sorin Raducanu.It is worth mentioning that the proposal made bythe representative of juniors’ club Progresul Bucharest,Tudor Iacov, to postpone the elections until one of themembers of the team of Gheorghe Popescu can submithis candidacy was rejected and the official of the formerclub in Cotroceni left the General Assembly of FRF.
