airBaltic to launch Riga–Bucharest line

On 3 June 2014, Latvian airline airBaltic willlaunch a new route between Riga and theRomanian capital of Bucharest, balticbusinessnews.com informs. The new four weekly returnflights will offer convenient connections betweenthe two capitals and beyond to destinations in theBaltic region, Scandinavia and Russia. ChristopheViatte, Chief Commercial Officer of airBaltic: “Thenew route will be of huge benefit to travellers visitingRiga and Bucharest for business or leisure, inaddition to offering seamless connections over ourhub, particularly in northern Europe. For theupcoming summer season we will discontinue anumber of routes, recording somewhat weakerdemand; this move makes aircraft capacity availablefor the new route.” airBaltic will fly from Riga toBucharest four times a week on Tuesdays,Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
